The Karabiner 98 Kurz (Carbine 98 Short) or Kar 98K is a shortened variant of the Gewehr 98, the Kar 98K was the primary issue infantry service rifle of the German army from 1935 to the end of The Second World War in 1945. The rifle saw action in every theater of war involving German forces. While it was outclassed by semi-automatic rifles fielded by US troops, the Kar 98k was a formidable weapon despite its rate of fire disadvantage. The Kar 98k demonstrated outstanding reliability and accuracy throughout the war; it was not uncommon for soldiers to be able to make effective shots out to 500 meters with iron sights and up to 1000 meters by skilled snipers using telescopic sights. The reputation and success of the rifle led to the Kar 98K finding its way into the hands of infantry of many opposing nations as captured or scavenged weapons. Today the Mauser Kar 98K is a highly sought after historical weapon by collectors and firearm enthusiasts alike.

" Got this Kar 98 full wood version on Wednesday as soon as I opened the box and pulled it out, I was in love. I originally wanted the shell ejecting one, but they did not have the wood version, and I did not want to settle. Then I was thinking why do i want to keep loading shells, so I saw this one and they had in the wood, so I said try it. Now I heard here allot about the bolt holding after the last round and you cannot push it back and this is true. Besides the safety on the bold that you move left and right this is a second one to let you know you are out of ammo. You have to pull the mag out to get the bolt forward, but the mag does not come out the normal way. All you have to do is pull back on the bolt and release the mag you can go back another 1/8th of an inch or so and get the mag out. I like this feature also.
I bought the scope with this one also. Now we found something I am not crazy about
1- It sits too far back for me
2- I have to move my eyes to get to see the entire front end, but this is me I am not good with scopes hand I do not like zeroing them in with a screwdriver. I was hitting up and down could not get close to the center, but I did hit the target.
3- Pulled off the scope and used the iron sites and 5 out of 10 in the center mark.
Now I have the Matrix M1903A3 and the Double Eagle Type 96 M59A Airsoft Shadow Ops. Sniper Rifle, the M59A came with a scope but again I hate the screwdriver adjustments be leave it or not when I aimed above the scope I hit the target better. So I have to learn better to zero in.
The M1903 A3 was my favorite Bold action rifle but now out of all my rifles I love this one the best and I have 8 now the others are semi and full auto electric with a couple .177 CO2 rifles but when I go to shot this is the first I pick up and spend hours shooting it.
It is a mush to get if you like the old guy's WW2 to Vietnam era weapons which I am starting to collect.
" This rifle is an absolute beauty, I was sure about it at first (being a springer and all) but it's actually pretty tough. The wood furniture is beautiful and the metal fittings look really great too. There was a little wobble in some of the hardware but that kinda sorted itself out. Can't wait to field this thing when the warmer weather comes, Ballahack here I come 😎
" I’ve owned this for about a year and a half, and I’ve always loved using it. There’s a screw that’s come a little loose on the bottom of my safety multiple times, but other than that, I’ve got no complaints about it. Absolutely love this gun, and I would totally recommend it to anyone.
