"If you were thinking of getting yourself the TM AKM but want all the modern furniture that comes with it, then look no further than the AKX. I've used this in the field for quite some time and I've had it for at least 4 months, and I've got to say, I absolutely love how this performs in a CQB arena with just all stock internals. In comparison to the MWS, though it may not have the precision and accuracy as its opposite, it is a much more robust, durable and ridged gbbr. What's great about it is that there is no need for you to change any of the internals for you to run this with green gas. Unlike the MWS, the weakest part of the gun is the nozzle return spring, With the AKX, it is made of a high durable steel. and I've run it with green gas with no issues. A lot of the AKX's internals and externals are made up of high quality zinc material which can turn off some people. However, many of its springs are made of high quality steel hence why this is such a robust platform. The AKX may seem as a great gbbr AK platform to have and use on the field, but it does have its drawbacks. Here is a summary of how the AKX performs along with some other info.

Basically you are getting all the internal features from the original TM AKM but with upgraded externals:
- MLOK handguard
- Railed dustcover
- Foldable skeleton stock
- Extended paddle mag release
- Modern pistol grip
- Modern magazine style
- Modern muzzle break
- Shorter barrel

Performance:
- 330 fps with green gas w/ .20g
- 1.25 mag gas efficiency w/o green gas mod, 2.5 w/ green gas mod
- 200mm inner barrel length but can upgrade with 220mm without inner sticking out
- 35 round mag capacity
- Ranges up to 30m of range with good groupings
- Performs amazing even in cold conditions.
- Dry fire mode
- Realistic "Click of Death"

Cons:
- Heavy as hell (even without mag)
- Stock does not have rubber pad so it can slip off of your shoulder straps when shouldering gun
- Shorter barrel means less range and power even with inner barrel upgrades
- Limited to .25g bb's MAX with the hop turned all the way up.
- Can be difficult to disassemble externals as they don't share disassembly process as the AKM
- Mags are super difficult to load even with speed loaders with ggbr adapters
- Mags will not fit in rigs unless they are meant to fit for AK's which are hard to find
- Mags are hard to find especially if you're looking into getting the same exact mags

"This is the AK to get if you're looking for a GBBR. As well as there akm. I personally play a majority of the time indoor. So, this rifle does everything I need it to do. It's solid, performs extremely well, and its MLOK. There's not much that needs to be done to this rifle, since you get a top rail and a mlok handguard. This is essentially getting the MTR over the mws but for the AK platform it does everything the akm would perform in but improves the body and gives you a more modern external look. I highly recommend this SBR AK platform if you are planning on a cqb killer and use GBBR's on the common. Lastly the only thing I recommend you'd need to do this GBBR is get a MR. Hop silicon bucking and a lambda barrel. but the stock Marui barrel is phenomenal.
