"Absolutely glorious right off the bat! The performance touches every play style and accommodates for any field space. I assembled my A2 for a support fire role but it easily reaches for fairly distant targets as well.
• Quick change spring access - particularly cqc fields restricting ~310fps
• Ambidextrous fire selector - advantageous in fast pace engagements
• LiPo ready - most fun with 11.1v but much more balanced with 7.4v
• Formidable weight for its potential size but can be optimized for high speed or stationary roles
• Found after rigorous firing in full auto the OEM polycarb piston stripped after a couple weeks of continued use - replace with a metal piston at your earliest convenience.
• More of a personal critique, the housing and wiring doesn’t allow for particularly long stick type batteries. They’ll fit but a bit of a hassle if you’re using stick batteries with 7-9 cells
I heartfully dare to claim that this performs to par with its EVO 3 counterpart
"I waited about 3 months and 10k rounds of play before writing this, to ensure a more well-rounded review. I must say that I've been completely satisfied with this AEG from day one. I decided to go with the Grey/A2 model, and was initially worried about sacrificing the inner barrel length. My concerns were alleviated when I witnessed its deadly accuracy. I am constantly getting 1-2 shot kills, and almost always use it in single-fire due to my confidence in its abilities. The stock hop-up bits' (bucking/nub) range does leave a bit to be desired, but is still impressive for an out-of-the-box setup.
It shoots about 408-410 fps out of the box, which is a little high for my local fields, but the QD gearbox and rear access makes it a breeze to power down to a M115 or lower depending on your demands. Currently I've only been using a 9.6v NiMH, but the wiring includes a Mosfet so it should have no issue handling a 11.1v LiPo if that's your fancy. The 9.6v stick type does get a little cramped in the upper receiver, however, which requires me to do some flexing with the connectors ensure the end cap will fit back on properly.
The look and sound of this gun is a real crowd pleaser; I frequently get compliments and questions about it from other players- most never hearing of the firearm or its origins. The finish is impeccable, and the weight feels about on par with the real steel version- which can be surprisingly heavy for some. The selector switch toggles with definition, and the trigger feel is crisp and precise. While most of the parts are made of metal, and feel sturdy enough to take abuse- I will say that the lower receiver polymer feels a bit thinner than I care for- and may be prone to cracking under rough enough conditions. Despite that, the polymer cuts looks and feel great to touch, more rubbery than plastic.
Internally, the gearbox is made by King Arms, so you can expect pretty top-notch quality in terms of OEM. All of the plastic interals are well crafted, and the metal parts are cut with precision. I expect the gearbox to hold up for quite some time before I even have to consider upgrading anything. Motor is pretty standard, but offers a pretty good rate of fire, even with the 9.6v that I use.
I only have a few small gripes with this AEG, that aren't enough to remove a star due to everything this package does offer at its price point. Firstly, the flip-up sights cheap plastic and honestly do not match the rest of the gun's exterior quality. Secondly, the parts market for the 805 Bren is absolutely barren- I've only found one proprietary aftermarket part (metal air nozzle), and that's only available in a Czech airsoft store. Thankfully the remainder of the gearbox is a standard V3, but if you're big on upgrading to a metal hop-up unit, or tend to abuse the exterior of your gun enough to require replacement parts- you may want to consider something else. Personally, I found a partially broken/used Bren that I picked up for cheap and have that on standby for loaner parts should the need arrive.
Overall, this AEG has met and exceeded most of my expectations and I'm not any less satisfied with my purchase than I was when I first ordered it. If you can get over the small cons, and you really love the SCAR-esque qualities of this rifle but want to stand out from the crowd, I would definitely recommend giving it a shot.
"I have been looking at this gun for a while and have wanted it fir a while. It's a great gun, runs beautiful. I got it as a birthday present and have played with it every weekend at the field since I got it. It's nice to be able to fold in the stock when you are in cqb areas and easily flip the stock back when you aren't in them. Haven't had any problems with the gun what so ever. Only change I had to make was changing the spring out because the fps was too high for my indoor field.changed my spring still has an fps of 350.
